End of Life learning tutorial

Our first End of Life learning tutorial is intended to teach towards the effective management of pain. While pain is one of the most common problems bringing people to visit their doctor, it is traditionally poorly taught in health sciences education.

Undertreatment of pain is a serious public health problem that erodes the patient’s quality of life, and their trust in the medical profession.  Failure to treat pain can begin to be addressed with improved knowledge and practice of principles of pain assessment and management.  Scientific understanding of pain and management is key but also is our ability to engage in careful history taking and effective communication. This tutorial is intended to serve at a refresher for some and an opportunity to expand your knowledge of pain management for others.  You can use the chapter headings to maximize your learning by navigating to areas that interest you.
