IVIMEDS is working to build a community of learning comprising partner institutions and a global network of people committed to the education of health care professionals.  Partner schools from across the world bring to IVIMEDS an immediate international and multicultural perspective. 

IVIMEDS is also collaborating with

• similar initiatives in the education of other health care professionals including nursing (The International Virtual Nursing School, IVINURS) and dentistry (The International Virtual Dental School, IVIDENT)
• organisations such as the Health Education Asset Library (HEAL) in the USA in the development of federated repositories
• with bodies concerned with standards in e-learning including IMS and MedBiquitous.
