IVIMEDS Learning Object Repository

IVIMEDS partner medical schools can share learning materials by contributing to and accessing the IVIMEDS learning object repository (LOR), a rich library of multimedia assets.  These resources (learning objects) vary in size/granularity ranging from single slide equivalents to sequences of slides or a module within a course.  The learning resources within the IVIMEDS LOR have been sourced from partner schools, the Internet and third parties and increasingly resources are being developed in-house.  All the content has been peer reviewed by content experts and covers a variety of formats including medical images, Flash animations, video clips, virtual patient cases, self-assessment items and whole modules of learning materials available as content packages including SCORM packages.  Each learning object has been metatagged and is searchable by selecting key words.
